Then & Now
How my beginnings in cartoon illustration led me into the world of graphic design.
Born in Delta British Columbia before moving to St. Albert Alberta. Early on in life I developed a natural attraction towards the world of art and deign through my love of Saturday morning cartoons. As I grew up I began to pick up the pencil and put my creative thoughts down on paper, pathing way to my early stylistic choices. After graduating from Bellerose Composite High School in 2008 I moved back to Vancouver British Columbia to begin accumulating my earning before eventually ending up at the Visual College of Art and Design. Even though I began to the first chapter of my life developing skills as an illustrator circumstances would lead me to perusing a career through graphic design.
Moving forward into a my chosen career path as an illustrative graphic design my desired goal is to bring exciting, playful and easily communicable media catered to whatever my clients needs may be. Though my specialty may lay towards well flourished active design I aim to be flexible with how I undertake the differences that come with every project. From the complexes to the minimalist or from political to environmental my goal is to truly understand my client and their audience in order to ensure satisfaction between all parties.
Nothing is more inspiring to the creative process than getting up from the desk and getting out in nature. In awe of it’s complexity and ability to nourish man both physically and mentally makes it something always worth referring to in one creative endeavor I take on. Designing with ecological preservation is something that drives me to bring this belief into common place in whatever medium that may be.
I believe in the power of current and future generations of children to grow in a way that will bring humanity into a new enlightened level of being. Seeking to design in a way that educated children or inspires their dreams is one of the greatest satisfactions that I have gained with the skills and insight into psychology Graphic Design has given me since I discovered it.
Often times we forget about the little miracles that the small things bring to our busy lives. Since my inception into this field find great joy in my ability to channel my illustration sensibilities into the products I design for. Products that are their that are their to help us indulge on our own and as away for us to form communities around a common entertaining interest.
